Did the title grab you by surprise? Well, it's true! To many of you, this is NEW news, and to our family, it is now public (only to close friends and extended family)! We have decided to share something really special with you. Our family is adopting a little girl from Chin@. We are well into the process now, and hope to be in Chin@ in September or October of this year to "receive" her, our very precious gift.
I will still withhold her personal information for her privacy and because she is not officially ours yet. But, we are calling her Mei-Mei (pronounced MAY-MAY), which means "little sister" in their language. With this nickname, we have truly felt a relation to her despite her being thousands of miles away.
ABOUT HER
She is currently 18 months (and change) old. She was born with a heart condition that has been surgically repaired. In fact, she wasn't even a year old when they fixed the "holes in her heart". And as far as we know, she is well! We have recently requested an update from the orphanage in Chin@, but we have yet to hear from them. As you know (or maybe not), the new year there was january 23rd, and so the country has been celebrating for a couple of weeks! We hope to get new pictures and a medical update soon!
